I usually get majority of my news and information through Facebook from others. I am not the one to post or share much unless I find it very interesting. When I do post it may be to update my Facebook account, so the pictures are up to date, or I’ll share a post that relates to my life. And when I do so, it’s mainly my close family and friends that comment on the post. I do often receive likes from friends I have not kept in touch with in a while. I believe that sharing what my friends post keeps my Facebook friends and I connected in a way. But, the actual groups that I am involved in such as “Wolfpack Student” keeps me separate and only connected to those in the group.

Having over 1,200 friends, it almost becomes overwhelming. A lot of them are friends from middle school and high school or someone I accepted because we had a decent amount of mutual friends at the time. Now I have to see their news feed everyday when I don’t really care to. Facebook does do a good job at putting the main people that I am connected to at the top of my news feed every time I check it. This way, I see what I am most interested in first.

I am typically fine with Facebook using my information for research or whatever can help them out. I am putting it out on the internet, so I’m expecting anyone to see it.

When I think about social network analysis, Facebook is the main social network that comes to mind.
